Certified training just £350 for up to 12 delegates, we come to you. £25 per head on-line

In their most recent guidelines regarding use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), the UK Resuscitation Council state:

1. An AED can be used safely and effectively without previous training. Therefore, the use of an AED should not be restricted to trained rescuers. However, training should be encouraged to help improve time to shock delivery and correct pad placement.

2. Short video / computer self-instruction courses, with minimal or no instructor coaching, combined with hands-on practice can be considered as an effective alternative to instructor led Basic Life Saving (BLS) and AED courses.

Whilst we wholeheartedly agree with the Resuscitation Council`s opinion The Defib Centre believes that if there is an opportunity for trainees to get their hands on an AED and practice the delivery of CPR then this is a real advantage. CPR is the hardest part of the resuscitation process and well performed chest compressions can be crucial in preparing the heart tissue for successful defibrillation and maintaining an oxygen supply to the brain and other vital organs. Handling and operating a training AED gives rescuers the confidence to access the unit quickly and follow the simple voice and visual instructions effectively and efficiently.

Our in-house courses: All training will be provided by experienced, hand picked first aid trainers selected from our network located throughout the UK.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED training;  a 3 hour course certified in accordance with Resuscitation Council guidelines

Bespoke AED courses designed to meet your specific needs.

We are able to accommodate up to 12 delegates on one course and can create shorter courses focusing just on the AED component if attendees are already trained and current in BLS. Our trainers come to you and simply require a room with enough space for trainees to practice their new found skills on up to date mannequins supplied by the trainer. A combination of  in-house training first off followed by on-line training at a later stage to support and refresh the learning is considered the very best option.

On-line CPR and AED training:

The UK Resuscitation Council guidelines state “Newer teaching techniques, particularly video-based self-instruction, appear to be effective and to reduce the time needed to acquire resuscitation skills”. We know how valuable your time is and want to offer you the necessary skills at the least expensive price in terms of your money and inconvenience

We offer on-line training through our American partners the `Emergency University`. Their courses are endorsed by The American Heart Association and offer an easily accessible and affordable alternative to in-house training (see below).  With self assessment by multiple choice questions and the facility to print off a certificate if required. CPR/AED training can be re-visited at any time during the first year of the 2 year certification period for free refresher training.

We have helped major `blue chip` companies produce their own in-house training videos/ courses on BLS and AED use to great effect.
